please help!
I'm trying to record my own guitar loops in ACID/soundforge
4.5. I've got a 1/4 inch guitar cable jack on the front bay
panel of my SB Platinum sound card, and I CAN hear the
guitar fine through the pc speakers. I can play along fine
w/ the rest of the song (I've got the "monitor" on, but the
levels don't even show up when I play) When I hit the
record button in ACID it says it's recording and I can hit
stop when I'm done. Then ACID writes the loop region in the
tracks view (w/ the rest of the song) BUT there's nothing
in the loop region of the wav, so I can't hear anything. I
checked my sound card settings (line in, volume control,
in/outs etc), so if anyone has seen this before and can
offer a hint that would be great.
thanks

bryan:

Try this First, check the front of your live drive and see if your
line in 2/mic in 2 button is turned all the way to the left. This
turns off your mic and turns on your line in which is what you would
want to use in the case of recording an instrument. Also open up the
sound cards mixer and check and make sure that your line 2 record
selecter is not muted. See you can have your play mixer set up fine
which would explain why you can hear it play but not be able to
record it. I hope this helps.
