Can anyone recommend a good sound card for recording
audio? I have a decent budget, so price is not o much of
an issue. I will be using it to record voice overs for a
CD-ROM project which will be processed in SoundForge.

Thanks in advance,

I have found "Gina" by Echo (Event Electronics) to be a good product,
if you don't need too many simultaneous audio inputs. They now have
a "Mona" product which has the advantage of having a microphone input
built in, which bypasses the need for a preamp processor when
recording vocals. This link reviews various products:

Well..my next computing purchase is going to be the SoundBlaster
Live! Platinum edition. It's got a pretty hefty price tag for a
consumer sound card ($199 at my local BestBuy), it's got some
features that stand out. Technically, it's a souped up Live! card
(go to creative labs website for details), but the nice extra is this
little box that connects to the card internally. You then mount the
box in an open slot (5.25" I believe, maybe it's 3.5"). Now you can
connect all sorts of input (mic, and SPDIF for instance) and output
(4 speaker surround support). This will be very handy for me.
