I have Acid Pro 2.0. When I split a track and then drag the event in order to line up beats, I hear a small click in the audio where it was split. Why does this happen and is there any way to prevent this? Thanks for any help. |

Well I am no expert, but what I believe is occuring is this: When you split a track you are effectively editing the audio signal. If you dont split the waveform at as close to the zero point as possible you will here a click. When you use Sound Forge, for example many times you want to set the auto snap to function to auto snap to zero. In Acid the auto snap to usually goes to ruler marks or to particular note values. The limit in acid is that you really cant zoom all that close to find the zero point because acid is not an editing program nor can you have the cursor auto snap to the zero point when splitting the track because its splitting the track at a particular beat in the measure. One thing that has worked for me in this is to split the track, then offset the desired part just enough so that the click disappears. The downfall to this method is that its not precise and as a result the desired note may not be 100% on the beat. |
