Subject:ACID is sent back to the distributor by german stores, due to lack of sales ! :-(

Hello !

I would like to mention that in my hometown Hannover, home
of the EXPO 2000,

there were two sources to get ACID.

One of it, a big local store "Kaufhof", now sents back all
items of ACID style products (HipHOp, DJ, Rock), due to lack
of sales, to get space for new products of your competitors
(eJay, Magix, Mixman, Cubase)

So in fact, in a town with 500.000 local residents, with
800.000 people living in the area of Hannover, there is just
one other music shop left which offers an item of "Acid Pro
2.0" (just that, not Acid Music, no Acid Style), as
introductory offer with a loops package.

No problem to order all older ACID products in the Internet
from german vendors, indeed. Acid Latin + Techno are not
advertised in Germany, in fact.

O.k. there might be 10 other locations in Germany of that
size of Hannover and even bigger (Hamburg, Berlin, Ruhr
area, Frankfurt Area, Munich area,..), but I assume that the
situation is similar:

Lack of sales.

Don´t think that the software of your competitors is selling
better, it is just not resent back to the distributor. In
fact, old outdated versions of Magix products are available
here in Hannover at several stores (MusicMaker 2000).

In opposite, Cubase has good sales in music stores. I
learned that Cubase targets a different audience (musicians
with Midi devices)

This all is not caused by piracy but by lack of interest in
the products at all, by the general public.

I just wanted to let you know.
You get all the items back from german dealers - the
estimated sales were just pure imagination.

Sincerely
Rolf

Hallo Rolf,

Thanks for the answer by the german support.

O.k. english-speaking folks (mostly not living in Germany):
With the help of the german distributors I found out that there are 3
vendors in Hannover ( 800.000 citizens live in the region of
Hannover), but two vendors just had each ONE Acid-Pro and nothing else
in their stocks. I still did not learn about the third one, but I
don´t expect a different situation.

Of course any vendors may order goods from their distributors by
request of customers, goods are delivered within 24 hours - no problem
in Germany, no problem in many other countries.

Nevertheless, the lack of sales of ACID products in Germany is
obvious: If goods are not in the stocks of local vendors, this is an
indication of low trade volumes.

And a big local store just delivered 10 packages of ACID-Style (Rock,
DJ,HipHOp) back to a distributor (not the one who answered) - because
of lack of sales.

Sincerely
Rolf
