I think, just as many others do, that the prices for the
loops are ridiculously high.
Plus, I was looking through the prices for the loops and
they are ALL 59.95 whether you get 120 loops or 1000 loops.
I can say that I would NEVER pay 60.00 for 120 loops when I
can pay the same price for 1000. I don't get it. The
smaller collections of loops do not seem superior in
quality to the larger collections. Plus, anyone can go to
amazon.com and get the loops for $22 cheaper.
I Sonic Foundry should reduce their prices. I feel that
they would make MORE money that way. Think about it.... I
also have Voyetra\Fastrack software - Techno Ejay and Dance
Ejay. I have over 11,000 samples (all EXTREMELY high
quality) and I only paid $30 for a set of 5,000 plus $30
for each program. I also bought Data Becker's 10,000 sound
clips - moderately good quality for $39!
So what's the deal?

- An Acid Music 2.0 User who's stuck with only 600 loops
and lacking $60 for more

Well, look for DATA BECKER 12.000 Sounds Volume 1 and Volume 2
Each volume has 12.000 sounds, for 69.95 DM = 30 EUR = $30 in Germany
License-free use of all non-text sounds (sounds with text are a
problem of its own we might discuss in another thread) !!!

Volume 1 = 10 CDs or 1 DVD
Volume 2 = 10 CDs

I got both packages. For even less, 29.95 DM = 15 EUR = $15, the OLD
version "Data Becker 10.000 Sounds" with 8 CDs is sold here in my
hometown (2 CDs of the new Volume 1 are missing).

Even with ACID 2.0 Xpress, I am able to do wonderful (short) music
tracks for background music for my tourist videos. For a minimum of
money !

There are other cheap offers, like the

Magix Sound Pool Collection
Volume 1,2,3 (each 5 CDs, each 45 DM = 22.50 EUR = $22.50)

These are entry prices, special product lines for special needs, i.e.
by Masterbit, are expensive too !

Of course NONE of the sounds and loops is "acidized" !!!!!

What I don´t like with the product policy of SonicFoundry is that they
push the entry Style versions with so many different music genre
products, instead of suppying all these loops with the Acid music and
ACID Pro package as benifit !!

I was even told in this forum "how about buying more than one ACID
style versions just to get the loops" :-(

I've found local retailers stock the loop libraries for significantly
less than if you buy them directly from Sonic Foundry.

I originally purchased Methods of Mayhem and the Fast Breaks loop
libraries from Sonic Foundry. I paid $59 for MoM. Soon after I
found it at my local Guitar Center for $39. I've recently purchased
a coulple of other SF loop libraries from Guitar Center. The prices
range from $30 to $49, well below what SF charges.

Hey,

Yeah the loop thing is a drag. I use a lot of the Magix loops cause
there are so many to choose from. I have about a 50,000 loop library
with Music Maker and Acid. Magix has their loops on a promotion I
guess, I picked up the techno set which had over 5000 loops for
$30.00 bucks by calling the 800 number. In case you need it here it
is.
