Hello.

The easiest way would be to give us a call at 1-800-57SONIC ext #3.
We could help you do this over the phone.

Thanks.

Hello !

As an inofficial, self-nominated spokesman of your current and
forthcoming European customers, especially of current or forthcoming
german customers, as you sell nationalized versions of ACID in german
language too, I must tell you that calling a US 1-800 number is not
"free" with a standard phone from Europe. So it is unacceptable.

Thank to the free Net2Phone
http://www.net2phone.com/
it was possible to call 1-800 numbers in USA from the Internet. I hope
that this free service is not discontinued. Unfortunately, the speech
qualiy is awfull.

Nevertheless, please mention your policy concerning the question for
European customers, either here or by personal E-Mail to me, Rolf
Hemmerling
(

)

Your policy:
a) New CPU or new motherboard or new booting harddisk or new graphics
card.
What components are checked during the the serialization process ?
b) Same hardware, but reinstallation every 4..8 weeks (as W98 is so
unstable, this is a usual reinstallation period of my desktop
computer).
c) Same hardware, but always/sometimes **two* registrations (as you
need different registrations if W2K and W98 are used alternatively on
the PC.

1 user, the same E-Mail address.

In which situation or after which number of re-registrations do you
say NO ?
I am still using ACID Xpress and this must for a online registration
is a big drawback for your product, if the policy is too strict. I
understand your policy as reaction to the "SerialZ Trading" in the
Internet, but I was VERY alerted when I learned that this registration
is necessary with (german) retail versions, too. For retail software,
this policy is not acceptable.

Btw, this leads to the curious situation, that some dumb software
pirates upload "full versions" of your software, but without a serial
number and especially without a crack to get rid of the registration.
The pirates are "proud" to present "valuable uploads", but they
present "demoware". So currently, your policy protects your product,
very efficiently.

Nevertheless, as I am interested in freeware trackers too, I still did
not decide to use ACID as primary music making software, but I am
still experimenting with ACID Xpress. As you know, trackers are not
limited to 4/4 clocks, less limited with clock speed, but harder to
use for beginners.

For all the readers of this forum, here is a list of
freeware/shareware trackers, for comparison with ACID:

Sincerely
Rolf
