Subject:acid music studio 7.0a VST FX problem

Hi, I just installed Music Studio 7.0a and my vst plugins folder does not remain as the selection for default vst effects. Vst Instruments are all fine. I re-installed my Music Studio 6.0b and added 7 but that has not helped. Direct x plugins seem to be ok. OS is WinXP Home SP2

so basically when i go to add fx in a track the vst folder selection is blank despite how many times i rescan the vst plugins folder as the default or additional location.
