When I finish and ACID tune and burn it to CD, it isn't quite as loud as a song that's been copied from a store- bought CD, or one that's been downloaded from mp3.com. Is it a matter of using profesisonal mastering equipment to achieve volume? (Well, of course you have to master before you press...) I am using a PIII 600mhz pc with a Soundblaster Live Platinum and Live Drive, and an HP 9100 internal CDRW drive. Thanks, Vince |

The easiest way to fix that problem is through a process called "Normalization". What that does is raises the volume of the wave form relative to the highest peak (so your sample won't clip). You can't normalize an entire project in ACID but here's a way around that. Just make your entire mix into a single track (you can find that under Edit->Mix to New Track). From there- go to your properties menu of that track. I'm assumed that your ACID came with some version of Sound Forge. If you open your track in Forge you can normalize it there. Save it and then return to ACID to write the track. This may not be as loud as store bought CDs but it will definitely help. HOWEVER, this largely depends on how "tall" your waveforms are.
