If I use the Asio driver with 9.0c (XP-PRO) the recording result is garbled. If I use the Microsoft Sound Mapper everything is fine. What am I doing wrong? JJK Message last edited on12/6/2007 9:32:02 AM byJJKizak. |

The sound is built into the Gigabyte board (7.1) and there is a small Gigabyte software dingus for setting up the channels. I set the options in 9.0c audio. This happened after installing 9.0c. 9.0c in record was set to 2.1 (stereo input) and I am wondering if I should have set it to 7.1. I guess Cole Younger was right-----"this stuff is a wonderment" JJK |

You're getting ASIO on just your mobo sound? - or are you using an interim like ASIO4ALL? If not., check it out - it's really good and will drop the latency and allow you full control over your gigabyte inputs and ouputs. Set up your gigabyte panel to whatever you have connected - if you only have 5.1, and you set it to 7.1, it will try and map the audio output to speakers you don't have connected. Although if it's recent it will auto-detect presence of jack connectors and activate/deactive for you. Could be worth taking a quick test on the other settings, you've used Sound Mapper, what's DX like? |

Make sure any SPDIF input is unselected. A live one of those can do strange things even if no SPDIF data being received. geoff |
