A general purpose mike for voice, non-drum instruments.....
Good quality but not top ie I don't want to spend thousands. Hundreds OK.

An AKG C12. Then I'd sell it and get a whole bunch of good mics !

But if there was just one that I had to use, possibly a KM84, which would be high hundreds used. For lower hundreds, I would be happy with my RODE NT5.

AKG C1000S.

Reasons:

- Superb sound for vocals, acoustic guitars, flutes etc
- Compact design, doesn't need cradle suspension
- Versatile pickup pattern - can be used as a stage mic with capsule insert
- Can use a battery inside it if phantom power not available
- manual shows how to wire a lead so it can be used with unbalanced inputs if needed (handy if you want to plug directly into a small amp).

I have two of them - had them for around 15 years now. They still show up well against more expensive large diaphragm mics. I use them for recording and for live sound applications.
