Trouble rendering HD WMV file

I'm rendering from and HDV 1080 24p timeline with cineform files on the timeline in Vegas 8a. Trying to get an HD WMV file....it renders fine but when I watch the file it has moments where it blocks up real bad and I get what I guess is called "digital distortion"....like if you were watching a stream on the net and it started to hiccup...anyway...and also it plays in some places like it is dropping frames. Now...I can go into my vegas 7 and render the file out fine...so i'm pretty sure its something with 8. Oh, and if I try to render again...the problem areas on the wmv file are in different places...

any ideas?

I get the same problem when I use Windows Media Player to watch my HD files. If I use VLC or Windows Media Player Classic, the blocks go away. It really messed me up the first time this happened as I could not see this on the timeline but I could in my rendered file. It was not the rendered file though; it was the player.

Watch it in another player (one of the two above) and see if that makes a difference.

I agree with j razz. This has been an issue I've dealt with in the past. If you use WMP to play HD, you will need a very fast computer. VLC is my player of choice and has eliminated all playback issues on my wife's computer as well as my work computer. My editing computer has enough horsepower to use WMP but I prefer VLC anyway.

well...i've been playing it through quicktime on a mac...and I've tried it in windows media players...and it doesn't even playback in vegas...

..but I can take the same project into vegas 7 and render out a perfect wmv...so that's why i think its V8...

Windows Media Player Classic is not the same as windows media player (do a google search for it and give it a try) or VLC. At least you would then know for sure.
