Subject:Recording new guitar tracks.

Is there a way to plug a guitar or keyboard
directly into the computer? Is there a converter
available that would allow me to convert the
1/2 inch guitar cable to the small soundcard jack?
Or, is there a way to use a good mic like a Shure
rather than a cheap small plug mic. Thanks!

Radio Shak sells adapters. You could use a mixer in between, this is
what I do. I play the guitar through an amp, put a mic in front of
the amp, plug the mic into a mixer, and then take the output of the
mixer and plug it into the input of the computer's soundcard.
