Has anyone managed to figure out how to change the colour of their wave and selection display colours in Studio 9? You now have Hue and Saturation and Brightness. For the life of me, I can't manage to make changes I want with this setup. It was so simple before. Now I got little triangles and deltas and numbers that mean absolutely nothing to me. I simply can't comprehend what Sony has done here. This is the most unintuitive change that I have ever come across in 25 years of computing. Please bring back the old way of doing this. I simply can't be that old that I suddenly find myself in a vacuum over a new "feature".

It's not that you're too old ClipMan, it's beacuse the new "improved" way of doing it is crap.

Feel your pain ClipMan.

BTW if you do find any more of these (and I bet you will!!) add them to this thread "I've had it with SF9 - going back to 8" It's already got the most resoponses and maybe if we keep this thread at the top of the discussion Sony may actually do something about it.

Once again, i can understand the reason for the change. The old way would also have been very cumbersome when managing many tracks, and trying to keep the same 'color theme' across each track.

However, i too find the new method nearly useless. It seems to pick highlight background and waveform colors that are nearly identical, making it almost impossible to see the waveform when highlighted. I finally gave up trying to get colors i like and shoot for any combination that makes the highlights even slightly visible. If only the new method would allow more individual choices rather than making up the other colors in the theme for us, it would be a lot better.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought I suddenly got stupid. I know all about HSL and I use it daily in my image editing programs. It's the way they implemented it that's the problem. It defies logic. It's all hit and miss for me. Anyway, I hope they do something about it. It's not the end of the world type of problem but it's irritating nonetheless.

It also wouldn't be so bad if the default choices had some contrast. But the default highlight colors are so close to identical for waveform and background as to make a selection all but invisible.

Right, Chienworks,

And the tiny Klingon graphic representation of the colours doesn't help either. Let them use some screen real estate and show better representations of where the colours will be applied. And it's not 'overkill' to do so because we spend most of the day looking at the screen and we need a set of colours comfortable to our eyes.
