I got the pro demo, and the pro demo says

The 8 track, not letting me save as a wave version worked
fine, but the pro demo, full version demo, keeps saying the
sound device is already in use, and its not. I would have
liked to at least finished one song.

Also, can you save as a wave with the free demo version?

You may save the project with the free 8-track Xpress version.
You may save the resulting audio as Real-Audio and Microsoft WMA file
with the free 8-track Xpress version.

With Winamp 2.60 and *older* (but not with 2.61 and newer), you may
convert a WMA file into a WAVE file.
