Posted by: daquiri Date:6/18/2000 5:24:00 PM I want to use wav files from my personal library in my acid music, but when they play, they have loud clicks at the beginning of the track. I have been struggling for the past few days to figure out how to eliminate the clicks and I am at the end of my rope. I tried using Goldwave to edit the files, but can't seem to make that work. I also tried to offset the tracks. Do I need to buy an editor like Sound Forge??? Please please, somebody rescue me! I'm pulling my hair out! Thanks! Anne

Reply by: SonicOtherTed Date:6/18/2000 7:27:00 PM Without hearing the file myself I'd say that most likely you are starting the .wav at a non-zero point along the waveform. This is very common and will create what you're describing. To fix it, open the file you're using in your fav audio editor, and zoom in at the beginning of the file to sample level. Make sure that the first sample in the piece starts at 0, if it doesn't fade in the first few samples, to ensure a smooth start. BTW this can happen at the end of a file too, so check that, especially if you're looping for ACID. Thanks for the good info, I too have been struggling with the
mysterious click at the beginning or end of my loops, so thanks again
