I as a music composer and ACID Pro user, have discovered perhaps the one big flaw, I think, in the ACID program. That is this: You can only write stuff in 4/4 (or at least have a doctorate in math to figure out where your measures fall) on ACID and that is very limiting. On a Global scale, not all music is in 4/4 music can vary to 10/4, 7/4, 6/8, 11/8, and so on. Perhaps in the United States, England and other pop music saturated countries 4/4 is a staple time signature. But other cultures: Africa, Siam, New Jersey (just kidding), Viet Nam and so on dont think about time the same way we do. I too, as a composer, also may not want to write in 4/4! So I think that Sonic Foundry ought to rethink thier product a bit and come out with pull down menus that change the time signature, (snap grid perhaps) much like the tempo change pull down changes the tempo. I really think that at least for me, it would make ACID a whole lot greater a product than it is, and a whole lot more compatable with sequencing, drum machines and other non 4/4 capable devices. This has been requested many times. It is being considered for a future version. One more thing: when you have lots of tracks, even though the screen is set as small as it can get, you cannot use the lasso to select all the tracks. This makes moving sections a real drag. There should be a way to select all tracks within a given range, like from marker - to - marker. Dana Peter Haller wrote: >>This has been requested many times.
