Subject:How do I install and use XFX in Acid Music 2.0 ??
Posted by: dkujala

I have Acid Music 2.0 and I understand that I should be
able to use express FX with it. I cant find any mention of
how to install it in the help files or the manual.
Where is it on the acid disk to install and once installed
how to I get it to work? I found the XFX plug in pack 2 &
3 demos on the disk and installed them, but there is still
no extra tabs in my program? Any help is appreciated
email me if you can.

Hi Dan,

The ExpressFX are located on your content (loop) CD. If the
installer doesn't automatically launch when you insert the Music
content CD, browse to the CD in Windows Explorer and launch the
installer from there. The XFX will only work with ACID Pro and are
included should you decide to check out the ACID Pro trial available
under the Help/Instant Upgrade menu item.

Hope this helps.

Dan, I had the same problem...and in my quest to install FX1&2 I
stupidly installed the demo versions and now cannot get them off.
I've placed a help to tech support in hopes of removing this demo
version and installing the one that came with the 2.0 package. The
demo version gives you lots of annoying "beeps" over your own
creations...at least I hope it's the demo version (it displays "demo"
on the FX window)that's creating these annoying sounds. Anyone have
some advice on how I can ge rid of this and start from scratch using
the proper activation codes? Am I right to assume the beeps I'm
hearing are inherent with the demo version? A new "FX" tab has
appeared, but I'm only getting teased of what cool things I could be
doing with FX1&2..

Hold the phone...I just posted a reply/similiar situtation to Dan and
then read your reply. What you're saying is that the XFX will only
work with ACID pro?! Seems kinda misleading that the box for Music
2.0 uses the XFX feature as a selling point only to make it really
available for the Pro version. Plus, the registration form e-mailed
back indicated that these products are available with my purchase of
2.0 What's the story?

Todd,

Would you point me to the offending text on our ACID Music box? I
can find no record of XFX as a selling point. ACID Pro is the only
member of the ACID family that supports DirectX plug-ins. ACID Music
supports ExpressFX plug-ins only.

If it helps at all, take a look at our website on any of the ACID
family products, you'll see an ACID family comparison. Check out the
entry for DirectX plug-in support.
