I am having trouble recording multiple tracks all at once. I have all my instruments ran through the mixer and into the computer, but they all record all the instruments and vocals on all the tracks. I need to know if anyone can help me figure out how to record the vocals on one track and all the instruments on seperate tracks as well. I can do them one at a time, but I want to do them all at once. I am new at this and I could use all the help that I can get. Thanks. I have Acid Music Studio 7 and a 12 input mixer. |

You will have to provide a little more detail on the hardware you have - for example - you have a 12channel mixer - but is that a firewire job, or connected to pc via audio connectors, and which connectors/bus/sends are you using. ? My initial suspicion would be that you are connected via stereo, based on your description thus far, and this setup would only allow the recording of 2 distinct segments/instruments at any given moment. It would help if you filled out your hardware specs in your profile so that we had a clue as to what hardware you have. As Kennymusicman said, you need an audio interface that has as many input channels as tracks you want to simultaneously record. Something like an Echo Layla, Presonus Firepod or a firewire mixer like the Alesis Multimix. Without multiple discrete inputs you cannot do multi-track recording. ~jr Message last edited on11/19/2007 3:38:51 PM byJohnnyRoy. |
