Subject:SF 9.0 + Loop tuner downgrade? Posted by: groovyone Date:10/31/2007 1:36:14 PM So it seems I'm with a new employer and I have to equip the studio again with audio editing software. SF9.0 does not support loop tuner which I and other sound designers daily for creating mono and stereo loops. I'd like to know if I purchase SF9.0 for my new employer if I can get a free license for 8.0 which I can use in the mean time until 9.0 supports the loop tool. Unfortunately SF9 and 8 don't seem to co-exist nicely on one machine as I found with my personal copy plugin licenses seem to be messed up. Can anyone from Sony please answer this. AFAIK SF9 is not going to have the loop tuner added at all - I expect it will come back in v10 (with some added firepower hopefully). Can't answer the license part though. That's my fave thanks to its overlapping view that really helps when it comes to finding a smooth match. WtM

Then I came here and read the bad news. This is just sickening! I really hope they don't mean this. If they'd really like to do something right in this area, they ought to snap up the rights to Seamless Looper, a truly amazing looping tool, which has, tragically, been discontinued by the developer. We work on looped sample sets just about every day, using SF to slice and dice and Seamless Looper to make the loops. What tools do we use now?
