Can somebody give a complete layman some hints on reducing low hum? |

Process / EQ / Graphic. If you use the sliders, start reducing them from the low end until you've removed enough of the hum without making the low end of the audio sound bad. If you use the graph, click somewhere around 100Hz to add a control point, drag the low end of the line down, then move the control point around left or right to get the best mix of hum reduction and retaining low end. You can also experiment with Noise Reduction if you have it to get rid of hum that way. It's a few more steps and a little more complex, but the result will be much better. If you've got it let us know and we'll give you some instructions on that too. |

The Paragraphic EQ comes with a preset for 60 Hz. It's four stacked notch filters. It can be a good starting point, if the source of the "hum" is the a/c power. The inevitable harmonics will need attention. There will be collateral damage. |
