Please! The best audio editor in the world should be available for Mac users too! Why not?
You -Sony will only make more money! And you will make our lives better! Get it started Please!

Then fewer PC's will be sold! Including PC's sold under the Sony Brand Name.

Soarer, are you gonna buy 50,000 licenses for the Mac version? Or can you at guarantee that many will be sold? It would be a losing proposition for SONY to port it to the Mac OS unless they knew they could get those kind of sales numbers in very short order. Otherwise it's more reasonable to tell the few Mac users that want the software to get real and buy the same type of computer that almost everyone else uses.

That being said, you are aware that SONY's software already runs on a Mac when using bootcamp and Windows, right?

I have no idea why you are saying something like that and I cannot take you seriously.
I'm very happy that I've switched to Mac and I am not having anymore problems with crashes and audio that crackles and stutters. I hope to hear a more friendly tone here...

Soarer,

I think you can forget "Otherwise it's more reasonable to tell the few Mac users that want the software to get real and buy the same type of computer that almost everyone else uses."

Hopefully he wasn't serious. I know plenty of musicians who use Macs.

Having said that, it is difficult to see Sony spending money on a Mac version of SF. It would be difficult for Sony to gain market share unless they were offering a significant leap forward over other software that is currently available on the Mac. This is a fairly mature market now, and very few opportunities exist to leapfrog competitors.

Glad you like SF that much, though!

Well ok. I did not think it would cost them much to port it to Mac.
I have seen many Mac users who are missing SF as well.
I'll buy an OEM version of XP and use SF with Fusion soon.

It's not that I crave a lot of features. With SF it is just so easy to open ýour selection as a new file/window. It has a good EQ that is integrated with the program and easy to use and all processing can be previewed right away. This ensures a fast work flow that is essential when you have to make a whole library of sounds.
Well, I'll be using it soon again anyway.
Can you believe it? Bias Peak which is supposed to be one of the best audio editors for Mac comes with a 4 band EQ!

I still hope there's going to be a Mac version someday though!
Sound Forge 10 for Mac, Yes please!

I have a PC running only for SoundForge. Everything else I'm doing on a mac. Therefore I'd apperciate a mac port of SF very strongly, too. Running it in Parallels Desktop works ok, but what a crap to have a whole PC simulation running just for a sound editor :-)

Doing it via BootCamp is not a good idea, because you can't use it simultanious to mac software. In my dreams, I work with Logic and use SoundForge as external sample editor...

Btw, I think there would be a big market for SF on mac. There is no single editor playing in the same ligue than SF. Wavelab isn't on mac, too, remember!

So, come on, Sony, OSX isn't that hard, go for it!

Supplying for a lesser platform would possibly compromise development and support from the primary platform ?

;-)
