Subject:my third suggestion

i just remembered my third suggestion: since the effects are routed through the master track before they apply to individual events, i am unable to apply an effect to only one event, unless i turn that effect off for all the other events. how about creating a feature where the master effect volume can be adjusted for individual events. for example, if i have a track that is split into fifty events, and i would like to apply delay to event number 23, i first have to set the master track fx volume, then apply a -inf envelope for that fx to the forty nine events which don't need the fx. this is a nuisance. anyone have a way to circumvent this issue? the the people at sonic foundry--acid is wonderful, and i appreciate your hard work! alex |

I must say i am in complete agreement with Alex on this issue. Yet I have a few additional suggestions: First, wouldn't it be nice if you could MUTE an individual event? (and I don't mean with an envelope, but with a one-click Mute button, or something like that) It's rather annoying to have to mute the whole track every time I don't want to hear a certain sound in a certain place in the song. Or I have to delete the event and recreate it if i decide i want it after all. If i could mute an individual event (i.e. it's still there but you just don't hear it), it would make editing a lot less frustrating. A good example of a sequencer that has this option is Cubase, from Steinberg. And second, (in addition to Alex's second suggestion) let's say I've made a beat out of seperate drum samples. Now I want to fade that beat in, but in order to do that I have to create volume envelopes for all events concerned, and then edit these envelopes so that they get louder over a certain amount of time. It would be a lot easier if I could select a region of events, and give this selection a single envelope. Mind you, i agree with Alex: ACID is wonderful, and i can't remember the days when i didn't have it ;-) alex wrote: >>i just remembered my third suggestion: >> >>since the effects are routed through the master track >>before they apply to individual events, i am unable to >>apply an effect to only one event, unless i turn that >>effect off for all the other events. how about creating a >>feature where the master effect volume can be adjusted for >>individual events. for example, if i have a track that is >>split into fifty events, and i would like to apply delay to >>event number 23, i first have to set the master track fx >>volume, then apply a -inf envelope for that fx to the forty >>nine events which don't need the fx. this is a nuisance. >> >>anyone have a way to circumvent this issue? >> >>the the people at sonic foundry--acid is wonderful, and i >>appreciate your hard work! >> >>alex |
