Subject:How to upload music from a CD or an instrument ?

Hello,

I am new at this, but I am really interested in making music
through software.
I am planning to buy some of the softwares that are listed
on the site, but before that I would like to try and
download some of the trial versions.

first of all, which software will allow me to record
multiple tracks and the allow me to mix them ?

2) How can reacord an instrument via the computer, do I have
to use some sort of a midi port cable?
3) can I upload some cd track lets say an mp3 file on a
track and work with it ?
4) how can I use a mic that will allow me to record my own
voice on the computer onto a track.

It would be really helpful if someone that answer these,
or if I am asking the wrong question then direct me in the
correct direction.
thank you
Ray

1. Acid 2.0 will do the trick

2. Get a mixer and connect the Line Out of the Mixer to the Line In
your computer's souncard. Plug your instrument into an Input Channel
and make the necessary adjustments.

3. You can record wave files, an mp3 that is being plaved will record
if you play it as you record it.

4. Go to Step 2 above and plug your mic into the mixer.

5. Connect the Line Out of your sound card to an input (CD, Aux) of
your stereo to listen to what you recorded or you can use the
computer's speakers but they are usually crappy compared to a real
stereo sytem.

Salute,
Jon

### You don't have to have an external mixer but you'll get more
professional results with one.
