Subject:Search for exact word in Media Manager

I want to search for the keywords "wind" or "windy" in my sound effects library, but not "window" or "windshield" etc. The Media Manager help file says I should just put the specific words in quotes in the keyword search box -- ie "wind" OR "windy". But this doesn't work. The search ends up being for (wind* or windy*) in the search results pane. The question mark wildcard doesn't seem to work either. When I type in wind? the search looks for "wind?" (ie the 5 characters "wind?"--which gives no matches). Is there some option somewhere to make these work...or are they broken features? I'm using Acid6d with Media Manager 2.3.2789.20854. Vegas7e and Vegas8a are also installed on my PC. WinXP SP2. |

Try adding a space after the words in the quote. So your search should be: "wind " or "wind." or "windy " or "windy." This will make sure that it selects the word wind and windy and not find window. It will also match if they are the last word in the filename and have a dot ".wav" after the name. This will still find "Rewind " but if you add a space before the " wind " you won't find any that start with wind. ~jr Message last edited on10/25/2007 4:57:13 AM byJohnnyRoy. |

Thanks jr. Does the ? wildcard (single character wildcard) work for you? |

No, the single character wildcard (?) does not work for me either. ~jr |
