Any suggestions/comments on what type of computer / sound card
performs best with loops 2.0? I want to update to a new pentium system
and I'm considering buying this software. Thanks in advance

Hi Richard,

Any Pentium over 200mhz should work well. Since speed is cheap these
days, get the fastest machine you can afford and gets loads of ram.

Soundcards are another issue. I have used three with ACID and greatly
prefer the quality of the "Turtle Beach, Montego II" with analog and
digital outs. It sounds great and is far quieter than two others I
tried. They were a Yamaha and a Creative Labs "Awe 64" You would want
to go with a PCI style card if you have the choice.

Peace, Jeff

Thanks,Jeff,

What about pentium notebook computers ?,
is there a good soundcard that will work,
perhaps with a docking station if necessary
I'd love to work with acid 2.0 and be mobile
Thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard,

There are notebook onboard sound cards that come with the computer.
If you want to record your creations off to DAT or MD then I would
stick with a desktop model. I really don't think the laptop cards are
as capable but I may be totally wrong.

If you use a docking station, then Turtle Beach, Event, and others
will make a good card for you.

Any laptop ACID users out there?

Jeff
