Why all the crying about the registration process??? -ACID Product Family

Subject:Why all the crying about the registration process??? Posted by: AlienFarms Date:12/27/1999 10:53:00 PM It only takes a few minutes to register your product and receive your activation code. You then insert your activation code in the appropriate space the next time you run the program and you're done. Simple! This is the only way SF can control the distribution of their software in this CD-R age. Anyone can copy a disc in a matter of minutes and begin giving it away or selling it illegally. SF found an ingenius way to protect their interests while still allowing bootlegs to function long enough to hook the user! The only problem I can see with the registration process is if your ISP doesn't make your email instantly available. If this is the case, change ISP's or use web-based email.

The computer I use in the studio is not an internet capable machine (no modem). That means I must be at the machine on a long distance call while I register BOTH pieces of Music 2.0.(it appears that EFX 1 and 2 need seperate codes from Music 2.0) My problem is that for the last three (work) days I have spent several dollars trying to get through to an overworked support group. Thus, I have to contimue trying until I succeed. BOTTOM LINE = money for the software, money for the phone, time wasted for the tech help wait and still no codes or fully functional software. And for the record: I LOVE ACID ....I think they can do better than this...How about an ACID users license. I would pay money to get a code that would unlock all SF products....... I will continue to buy but I believe my "crying" about this is in good cause... I never thought about those of us who don't have all their machines wired to the net - all three of mine are networked. Now I can understand the frustration. It seems like SF should have an 800 number with an automated registration process in place. It could be completely NHI (No Humans Involved) and work just like the online registration. Ahhhhh... enlightenment!
