Is anyone else having serious problems with Acid 2.0? When I install 2.0, my Soundscape Mixtreme Card keeps locking - up and it needs a computer reboot. If I uninstall 2.0 and re-install 1.x, all works fine. Also, Acid 2.0 does not recognize my SCSI CDRW. If I try to select one, it says there are no devices installed (or something like that). Thankfully this up-grade came with an updated SF XP and some plug-ins I could use, or I would feel quite ripped off. That said, maybe I could get a free upgrade to Soundforge for my troubles :) |

What OS? What version of the Mixtreme drivers? When you say "locking" what do you mean/how does this manifest itself? What bit depth? Sample Rate? What SCSI CDRW drive do you have? Have you contacted our tech support? Peter Dave Radisewitz wrote: >>Is anyone else having serious problems with Acid 2.0? Yes. I am running Acid Pro 2.0 under windows nt 4.0. As soon as I load the program my computer crashes leaving the blue screen. Hello. If anybody out there needs immediate assistance, please give us a call at 608-256-555. We are open weekdays (except holidays) 7am-10pm CST. Also, for the Acid Pro 2.0 under Windows NT - You could try to download and install the DirectX 6.0 Streaming Media Component from our website in the Downloads -> Utilities section, if you haven't had a chance yet. You'll also want to make sure that you are logged in with Administration Priveleges when you install Acid 2.0, in case you were not. The DirectX 6.0 is supposed to automatically install, however, we have seen cases where it has not. Thanks. Allen Melser wrote: >>Yes. I am running Acid Pro 2.0 under windows nt 4.0. Hi Peter, Thanks for the response. I figured out a work around for the crashing problem which makes no sense to me. Please bear in mind that this problem developed imediatly after installing Acid 2.0, so it may be something related with the install of 2.0. That said, I found that if I boot up Emagic Logic Audio Platinum for windows (latest versions)and play an audio file, shut down logic, then the MME drivers don't lock any MME apps including Acid 1.x I have tried using both the ASIO and MME driver in Logic and it doesn't matter. I don't want to reinstall 2.0 again because I'm afraid it screw things up again. As soon as someone can give me a good suggestion to fix the problem, I would try to install Acid 2.0 again. I have installed DirectX 7.X directly from microsoft to help me get it to this point. I will answer your questions below. Peter Haller wrote: >>What OS? Win 98 fully up-dated via windows update. The latest drivers available 1.06 I think >>When you say "locking" what do you mean/how does this manifest itself? Acid will play aproximately 5-10 seconds then the computer completely locks-up and I have to switch it off. Cntrl/alt/del does nothing >>What bit depth? Sample Rate? I tried all combinations. I usually use 44.1K and 16, 20 or even 24 bits depending on what I am doing. >>What SCSI CDRW drive do you have? Ricoh 6200S scsi. Only ACID won't see the drive. CD Arhcitect works great. By the way, will there be an update to CD Architect that will convert 24/24bit files to 16 bit for putting on CD? I would love that. >>Have you contacted our tech support? A couple of times. The first person I talked to said he had lost my email after several weeks of no response. In all fairness, I have not dealt with this problem in a while since I found the workaround; and I have been working in the studio instead of playing with ACID. I also want you to know I am not mad or even particullarly annoyed, I just think its time to fix the problem. It may be my workaround will work with Acid 2.0. However, if the install of the program is going to change my direct X drivers and other things, i don't want to do it. Everything else is working, including Acid 1.x. Lets figure out the problem first. Thanks, Dave >>Peter >> >> >>Dave Radisewitz wrote: >>>>Is anyone else having serious problems with Acid 2.0?
