Subject:Transposing in Acid Music Studio 6

Hi Everybody.
I have a little problem transposing my 24bit Bass On Demand files using Acid Music Studio 6. Going down just a half step from say: Bb to an A....I'm not getting a very clean transpose.....there are some rather nasty artificats there. Can anybody help me with this.
At the moment........I'm also using Adobe Audition 2 to record some my audio etc.

I take it the recorded audio from Audition was ACIDized properly?

I've heard of extreme key stretches not sounding right, but half a step shouldn't sound too bad.
