Subject:Using a one shot 'loop' Posted by: JamesH Date:12/5/1999 12:57:00 PM Hello, I want to use a vocal that counts off "1..2..3" that obviously needs to be a one shot sample. But when I put it in ACID, it only takes up the first half of the first "segment" where an otherwise full loop would fill. So I end up with the one shot sample playing, then a 3- 4 second delay, then the second "segment" kicks in. How do I either move the one shot sample up next to the second "segment" or adjust only the first segment to fit the one shot sample? I thought it might have something to do with the 'Snap To' function, but I have to admit I don't understand any of the help files or documentation of 'Snap To.' Thanks!

Howdy, I use a stick click or drum click for the first four beats as a starter. Find a snare drum loop, for example, Zoom in so you can see all four beats of the first measure and fill the first four beats with this loop. Use the Snap to Ruler Marks option and be sure there is a Ruler Mark at each beat. You then can use Split at Cursor to single out one of the individual drum hits. Change the Properties from Loop to One Shot. Next, place the Loop Marker above the width of the sound and use the Mix to New Track Option. Save it as a new file and you've just created a new One Shot Drum. You can do this with any other instrument. It will be hard to do with vocals unless you're timing is perfectly in sync with the Acid Track Time Signature. Salute, Lewis

Howdy,
I use a stick click or drum click for the first four beats as a
starter. Find a snare drum loop, for example, Zoom in so you can see
all four beats of the first measure and fill the first four beats
with this loop. Use the Snap to Ruler Marks option and be sure there
