Let's say you have a decending chord change that you've written into to your loop by using key change...original loop in C...now you have C (1 measure), B flat (1 measure), A flat (1 measure). This is track 1 with let's say, a keyboard pad. I want the bass line on track 2 over these three chords to remain on C. How do I do this? When the bass line reaches the split point (key change), it also changes??? Any thoughts. Thanks |

There are three ways to change keys in ACID: 1) at the project level, 2)Changing the key of the entire project at certain points in the timeline, 3) Changing the pitch of individual events. To accomplish what you want here, make a new event of the bass at each key change of the keyboard pad (either by adding additional events, or splitting the one that's already there.) Then right click on the bass events, and choose "Pitch Shift | Up or Down" until the pitch of the bass event is back to C. (you can also use the + or - keys on the numeric keybad to change the pitch of the selected event much more quickly). If your keyboard track is the only one in your project that is using the chord change, you'd be better off adjusting the pitch of the keyboard events (a new one at each pitch change), and leaving the bass and all other tracks set to C.
