Am just getting into using Acid Pro 6 for small film scoring, which has been great so can't wait to see whats in Acid Pro 7! - Bring it on Sony!!! BUT. : Does anyone know how to move the cursor by exact frames? I use the arrow keys to move the cursor by small increments when zoomed in, and have the clock to "absolute frames" but it seems to move around dependent on the ZOOM factor? Can I get this to move by frames regardless of what zoom level I am on? ALSO on this subject can I move events around by Absolute frames? I have the "num lock" on and use the other arrows on keys 4 & 6 which moves events only that are higlighted.. again sometimes you want to move events by frames regardless of the zoom? Seems that its such a simple and essential things to do when working to picture is to move by absolute frames only? i have imported my video but the timecode on the video is slightly out from the Acid clock? how do i get this back in sync together? do i need to alter the 24fps/25fps settings? - where are these?? Thanks! |

Alt -left & right arrows will move the cursor by exact frames. As far as frame rate in ACID, i dunno. In Vegas it's under File / Properties, but ACID doesn't show it there. I don't think ACID will do anything other than play the video file at it's own frame rate. Keep in mind that some video timecodes are a bit odd when dealing with things like 29.97 or 23.976 fps. The frames don't line up with seconds or beats. The video timecode will be accurate at the exact moment when each new frame starts, but inbetween frames it can be off by a tiny bit. Beats, measures, and audio samples won't line up with the frame boundries. Generally there's no need to worry about this and you can depend on ACID to be doing The Right Thing. |

"Alt + left & right arrows will move the cursor by exact frames." Brilliant!! dont know why i never tried that but your a genius! I take it ALT+ L/R on the other keys will move an event by frames also?? Thank you! |

No, but using the numpad's left and right arrows will nudge an event/clip pixel-by-pixel (according to the zoom level, it may be a lot or a little). ON EDIT: Whoops, butterfingers! Just saw your original post. Disregard what I said. ;) If you feel the need to lock an event at a certain frame, you could always drop a marker at that specific frame and drag the event to it; it should snap to the marker. Is there a snap to marker? In Vegas despite the Zoom level, you can snap to marker by the marker/event point "glowing" so that you know you are bang on the marker... Hoping thsi will be in Acid 7!!!!! But in Acid 6 is there a snap to marker? I place a marker precisely and its a bit cumbersome zooming in and knocking the even back and forth with zoom trying to get it to line up.... Is there something like Vegas where you can just drop the event bang on the marker without all the zoom/faffing about!!? |

Technically, yes, there's a snap to marker option. Toggle the "snap to grid only" option by pressing Ctrl + F8. You basically want it off if you want to snap to markers. (Consequently, F8 toggles snapping to any element—markers, regions, grid lines and whatnot.) You can simply drag media from the Explorer onto the timeline. It should snap to the marker once u get close to it. Message last edited on10/24/2007 10:58:03 AM byIacobus. |
