I know very little about composing music on computers except that I am very keen to learn ever since I saw a demo at the Guitar center. I want to set up a new computer system from scratch and need advice on hardware, soundcards, videocards, speakers and of course music creation software. I like to sing with Karaoke cds (but I have to change the pitch in most cases); I like to burn my own CD's (karaoke included) and I would like to learn how to compose music with all those exotic samples that are sold. I am thinking about ordering a Pentium 500 Dell with 128mb RAM and 27 gig hard drive (7200 speed). What sound card do I need (Digital?) with microphone inputs for a high quality microphone. And what exact Sonic Foundry products do I need? Also, are there any products which eliminate vocals from a regular music CD? Please help. Thanks in advance MP |

Get a SoundBlaster Live! card and Acid Music and you'll be happy. I don't know of any karaoke software, sorry. |
