Subject:AUDIO DRIFT IN ACID 2.0

#1. thanks to gayle, nate, and doug for really trying hard.
but i'm still dying.

and i have tried everything......
way too much to list here

ok.......here is the problem

in a sentence the audio is drifting away
from the midi clock, AND away from timing in
general.

initially it was obvious in the first 30 sec.

now, after all the trouble shooting w/
tech support, i extended it to maybe 7 min.

which means if i want to do A song, great.
or if i want to use acid EXCLUSIVELY great.

but syncing other deviced up w/ it for a rave..
forget about it

i'm very depressed.

heres my set up
350 PII, 64 megs of ram, uw scsi hd (even though
it doesn't matter since its loaded into ram anyway)
the ABSOLUTE LATEST drivers for my digital
audio card GINA, and THE ABSOLUTE LATEST CARDS
FOR MY mpu401 midi card C-MEDIA.

i have tried EVERY possible combination of settings
under preferences........

AND I TESTED THE AUDIO OUT TO A METRONOME......it still
drifts after 5-10 min.
(depending on the number of tracks)

so, i think i'm looking at getting
a midi clock generater.......motu perhaps?

my question is this.......why when i spoke to
both nate and gayle, did they both said
that there had been NO testing as far as slaving
external midi devices to acid?

if this is true.......why not?

do you know how f---ing awesome it would
be to have ACID AND MY 303 working together?

NOTE........I'VE ALSO TRIED ACID 2.O ON SEVERAL OTHER
SYSTEMS.......THEY ALL LAG!!

the only variant is over
HOW MUCH TIME!

again
this is NOT a problem if you use ACID EXCLUSIVELY.

ok...........so please.........someone........anyone
help.

please god.......DONT MAKE ME HAVE TO GO BACK
TO CAKEWALK.......I SWEAR, PEOPLE WILL DIE!!!

ACID can NOT sync to MTC properly. Period.
They haven't fixed it in V2.0 either.
I'm waiting now for more than a year.
Am I pissed off by that? Yeah, the hell I am!

Hi Jeremy
Last night I completed a 4 minute drum tarck produced wiall with Acid
loops (w/Acid Pro 2.0) and synched it up to my VS1680 recorder. I set
sync tempo on the 1680 to match the acid tempo so the bars would
match throughout the song on the 1680. Pressed record and voila, a
perfectly in-synch drum track. I'm using MTC for code and Acid as the
master. Any chance you can try using MTC.
