OT.Need help with new system( Resolved )

First , I thank everybody in advance, here's my problem, old system died. I trying for the first time to build one myself. Here's a list of the components: MoBo ECS Ge Force 6100SM-M,CPU AMD Athlon 64 x2 4800+. PSU Xion 450 Watts. Will reused HDD & DVD Writer from old system. Turn the power on,HDD,DVD Writer & fans will spin, but nothing else, No image to monitor , only thing I can hear is a beep. Thanks for all your help!

"idiot" check first - check that all items are plugged in soundly - and recheck. A card or memory module that's not quite in properly can yield results like you get.

Two things come to mind:

1. The CMOS jumper is set to "clear" instead of "normal"

2. You are using TWO IDE devices when it can only handle ONE.

3. The memory is incompatible or improperly installed (wrong slots, etc)

"A card or memory module" Thanks!! guys/gals. System is running! Bad memory module was the culprit.Another case solved by this wonderful forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
