Subject:Synchronization of audio recorded in Acid

I am recording a track in Acid. When recording, I am
listening to the loops that I have prepard in the current
Acid project. I would assume that the new recording I am
making would record in sync with the tracks I am listening
to. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Should it be? What
could I be doing wrong. The recordings work very easily and
sound good. The machine is a 400mhz Pentium II with 384MB
RAM and a UltraWide/Fast SCSI hard disk (7200rmp).

Any help would be appreciated.

The best technique is cumbersome, but it works. Export the tracks
you have so far into a stereo .wav file and open it with a multi-
track audio program (like Vegas). Record your new track (one shot or
loop, whichever) and save the new track as a .wav file. Then import
it back into Acid. You can record several loops/one shots that way
and import them one at a time back into the Acid project. Then, they
will all sync up.
