what product can I use that will allow me to sync video
(avi)file and then compose an acid soundtrack to the
video. i want specific sounds to occur based on video
content. i currently have acid music and love it, but
would gladly upgrade to whatever product will allow me to
sync video and acid music.

You would be better off exporting your ACID tracks and using some other multi-
track software to do the syncing. Premiere (an AVI editor) support multiple
audio tracks and its really simple to line up audio events with video.

Sound Forge or Vegas will do exactly what you're wanting to do.
