Hello, As a vehicle to create new guitar parts in ACID, I want to prepare a mix of loops then record in Acid a guitar track that I'm playing in realtime over the mix of loops. That part I have figured out. What I'd then like to do is 'edit' the recorded guitar track creating loops from pieces of the recorded guitar track. This way I can improvise and select the best parts. What is the best way to slice and dice the recorded guitar track so that I am getting a perfectly sliced 2 measure phrase (or 4 measure etc.) that I can then have as a loop to paste as I wish. Can this be done within ACID. I also have Soundforge xp 4.0. I'm hoping I don't need to export to Soundforge xp 4.0 but if I do could someone tell me the best way to get the results I'm after? Thank you very much, Diane. |

Simply use the split tool (keyboard shortcut---"S") at any point you'd like to split the recorded file, then scoot the parts where you want them. I do this all the time. Very quick and easy. I turn the snap settings off (toggled by F8), for better flexibility. -- Bruce A.
