Subject:ACID PRO 1.0d invalid page fault
Posted by: DavidE

ACID PRO has crashed for the first time and this was after
installing the 1.0d update. I get two invalid page faults -
one in module OLE32.DLL and the other in SFACIDK.DLL. This
happened the first time when I was recording a track into a
simple project with three loop-based tracks, one disk-based
and 3 DSP/FX modules. Every time I try to reload the
project the same invalid page fault appears whilst loading
the last track. After uninstalling 1.0d and reinstalling
1.0a there's no problem loading the project.

Regards,

David

What were the record rate and bit depth?

Peter, I have reported this bug to QA...you might check with them. Same
crash.

I can get it every time with a file containing an Amulet VST Adapter plugin.
This is a change from 1.0a, which properly works with these plugins, just as
in DavidE's case.

I hope there is a solution for this soon. I too must use version 1.0a until
this bug is handled...I have far too much work in progress that will now
crash upon file load.

These are 16-bit/44.1 projects, by the way.

Thanks Bruce. I will check with QA.

44.1kHz and 24-bit.

We've been able to reproduce the case for the Amulet VST
Adapter, and our ACID team is working with Amulet to sort
out the problem. Which version of DSP/FX are you using?
With version 5.50, I haven't been able to create any
anomalous behavior. Although, it looks as if DSP/FX has
bumped up to version 6.1 in the last month or so.

This project didn't use the VST Amulet adapter, so I guess
the problem must be related to DSP/FX. The version I'm
using is 6.0, which I think is the the latest version,
i.e., since Power Technology took back distribution from
Event. I've been using 1.0a intensively over the last few
days with no problems, so the crashing must be due to the
1.0d update.

David
