Subject:Loop Editing

I have a problem with Acid I was hoping someone could help
me with. The way I put together my songs is that I lay down
the beat first and then I record into Acid using Midi
Instruments. The problem that I have is that when I
record I usually have to skip the first measure until I get
a feel of the beat, when I stop recording and change the
track to a loop there is a big space of silence from the
first measure that I didn't play anything. Now I
know I could go into an external editor and delete the
silence but then It makes the loop off beat and I have to
edit the number of beats in the loop, which is a pain and
sometimes changes how the audio sounds. Is there a way
to change the start of a loop or any other way around this
problem?

Thanks

- Chris
