I been recording my jungle records to my Sound Forge wave editor then opening them to Acid. When I mix to different wav files I begin matching the beats to a 4/4 count, for example; 1:1 to 1:1, 1:3 to 1:3,2:1 to 2:1, 2:3 to 2:3 and so on. Then when one beat starts to slip from the other, I compensate and adjust(stretch) the pitch to the selected wav below to follow the beat. The problem is when I reach the end of the mix, I look back at the beginning and the beats are once again off. It seems I playing tug off war trying to keep the beats mix completely acurrate throughout the entire mix. I stretch the end a little bit and the beginning beats come off. I stretch the beginning back and the ends fall off. Is there any way to mix my five minute plus tracks together? Is there a way perhaps to section the tracks down and work at a smaller scale? Is there a better way to mix disk-based tracks that I'm not getting? |

It seems that Acid dosn't "Acidize" HD files. In my compositions I use a combo of RAM stored samples and HD files...the RAM samples can be "Acidized". You'll probably have to consider slicing up your big file into smaller files to get them to respond. Depending on how much RAM you have, you can set a pretty big limit in Acid as to what size can go into RAM. I use the default 5 meg but I'll probably up the ante soon, since I run 160 megs. RAM is very cheap right now...down to about $150 bucks for a 128 meg stick of PC100.
