This may be a stupid question, but where can I get FX for
Acid Pro???

I'm new to this whole music making process and could use
all the help I can get...Is there anyone willing to share
thier wisdom about making music with computers with me.
I'd really appreciate it.

Any DirectX effects will work in ACID Pro.

As for the music making process, dig in. If you're really serious,
I
suggest getting into school...music school, not a "recording school"
(even
the best ones are a complete ripoff). You need to know theory,
analysis,
counterpoint, history, orchestration, and literature if your intention
is to
become a master musician. You don't necessarily need to be in a
degree
program, just get in a good music school and get the knowledge.

Of course, you may not wish to go that far, but there is a definite
advantage to knowing exactly what's going on in any given piece of
music, no
matter what the style is. It also helps to know what has come before
you,
so you don't spend a lot of time repeating things that have already
been
done.

There are numerous DirectX plug-ins available.

Others on this forum have mentioned Digilogue Blueline
Effects at:

I have downloaded them but have not tried them out yet.
There seems to be a very well rounded set of effects like
deleys, filters, flanger, phaser, chorus, reverb etc. I
believe that the shareware demo is fully funtional and
registration is only $35.00!

I have XFX 1, XFX 2 and Acoustic Mirror/Modeler from Sonic
Foundry. I quite like Acoustic Mirror which copies the
acoustic features taken from real life environments. It can
be used for the creation of reverbs or for applying the
sound coloration of specific microphones and tube amps.
This program is very proccessor intensive and is probably
better suited to use with an audio editing program than
something like Acid. Unless of coure you have a fast CPU.
The XFX plug-ins work just fine with Acid.

This is a pretty good introduction to computer music with
lots of reviews for various products.
