Subject:FX Load time too long?

Hi,
I've noticed that compared to Acid 4, Acid 6 takes about 2-3 times to load a track effect.

For example, in Acid 6 if I click on the FX button, it takes about 10 seconds for the FX window to open, then if I select an FX chain it takes another 10 seconds to load. All this takes about 5 seconds in Acid 4.

Can this be optimized to be faster? I notice it slows down my work flow, especially when I'm starting a new project and really working things fast.

This hit should only occur the first time you open the FX chooser. Are you seeing this happen all the time?

If there are no effects on a track, when you press the FX button it takes around 10 seconds to open the FX explorer.

If there are FX on a track and you want to update or change the FX, you're correct, the window does open quickly (just tested it).

However, regardless, once the FX explorer window opens, if I select a new or different effect or effect chain it takes about 10-15 seconds for it to "take hold" and let me click OK to close the FX explorer.

Working on a project right now, I notice that if I select menu Options/Preferences... it takes 10 seconds for the Preferences window to open, which is another sign of sluggishness. Is this a symptom of a more general issue for my system or install?

UPDATE: OK, I started doing some testing and I've found that if you have the old Steinberg Spectralizer DX plugin in a project it really does something freaky to Acid 6. If it's loaded as a track effect it seems to slow down the behaviour of the whole application, like the open Preferences window. Also, the more instances you have loaded the longer it takes for Acid to begin playback (up to 5 seconds if you have a handful installed).

Whattya think could be up with that?

Couldn't tell you. Don't have that old plugin.

So, what you are saying is that if you don't use this plugin, then the problem is not a problem?
