Say I had a completed song recorded in ACID and had 24 tracks and wanted to mix on Sound Forge. What is the quickest and most efficient way to go from ACID to SF for mix down??

Should I have to convert the 24 tracks in ACID into wavs, then import into SF??

You can not mix in Sound Forge. You would mix in Acid and edit, master, or pre-master in SF.

So why is it a multi channel program?

Multi "channel", not multi "track".

Multichannel permits you to edit audio files that have more than two channels in a single audio file - for example, a Surround file that contains 6 channels: Left/Right Front; Left/Right Rear, Center, and LFE.

You CAN mix in Soundforge. Whether or not you'd want to is another matter.

You can have the seperate tracks in (up to 32), apply volume envelopes etc. It's just easier to use things like Acid to do the mixing as you can easier apply per-track effects and so on.

Perhaps we should ask Ekzpi why he wants to mix in Sound Forge rather than in ACID. Ekzpi, what is it that you think would be better about doing this in Sound Forge? ACID is a (nearly) complete mixing facility. Sound Forge is not.

The reason I ask is because I used to do all my editing in SF 7 via right click in ACID > "edit in Sound Forge". I just thought after recording in ACID there would be some way to import the whole acd. file into acid, and take the mix into SF where they have a better mixer console. Thanks...I do mix in ACID, I just wanted to try something new.

An acd file is an ACID project file. Only ACID can "import" or read these? What are you really trying to say here?

Sound Forge doesn't have a mixer console?

Could you clarify what it is you want to do with ACID and Sound Forge?
