HDV capture problem Vegas 8

xjerx wrote on 9/14/2007, 10:46 AM
So...i use the HDV capture utility in Vegas 8 and when I click capture it saves a different file for every three seconds or so....so for example if I had a 9 second video..it would produce 3-5 different clips for those 9 seconds...with or without scene detection on. What gives? Is this a bug? As of right now i'm having to go back to veg 7 to capture HDV as it is not having this problem. Any ideas?

What camera and settings are you capturing in, by chance?

I'm having the same issue with my Canon XH-A1, but only when I shoot in 24f mode.

I have the same issue with HDVsplit and my Canon HV20 cam. I haven't a CLUE what the problem is!?? However the vegas HD capture program works with my Canon.

Maybe your situation is reverse to mine? So maybe give HDVsplit a try... it's free for the download.... Google for it

13 minute HDV capture from Sony FX1 worked flawlessly in V8

Using HVR-A1U's here and captured via Sony Vegas Pro 8. The HDV footage has splits where there were none on the tape and some portions are missing (read gaps) where the new events were created but they were not split on the tape when recorded. I am still getting a 1-3 frame split issue with the capture, but I only found 1 this time (Vp8) instead of the usual in V7 which was virtually every scene split.

I am having the same problem with my Canon HV10... It splits every 3 to 4 seconds.

I have a Quadcore 2gig machine.... seems very buggy to me..

Hi all,

Sorry you are having trouble capturing from your HV10's - just FYI I have HV10's and I can capture from the V8 Trial. At first I had this problem http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=548093&Replies=5 but once I got the capture window to show up I was able capture an 8.5 minute clip flawlessly.
