I can answer that one for you...I am the producer of that collection.

The Chuck Rainey Collection is currently in production, and is a
multi-volume set covering various styles. When completed, the Sonic
Foundry
version of this product will be the first one released.

Volume 1, Pop, is well underway, and contains loops that work well in
a
variety of pop styles. One of the amazing things about Chuck's
playing is
that what he does works incredibly well over any number of grooves. I
am
really psyched about the sound quality as well. For volume one, we
tracked
Chuck direct using a Manley VoxBox as a preamp. The pultec EQ's and
beautiful tube electronics really gave us some fat sounds to work
with.

Another unique aspect to this collection--we're offering each loop in
many
keys, sometimes all twelve. Some loops have two versions per key.
Why do
that? A couple of reasons. It allows you to construct a more "human"
part,
if that's what you're going for, by varying up the sound a bit. It
also
allows you to pick a loop closer to your current key, to avoid
phasing
problems with extreme transposition. This collection can be used
very
effectively as a construction set to make a bass part that has a very
"nonlooped" feeling. Of course, all loops are fully ACIDized, and
will
function with ACID's built in transposition features, if you're
looking for
a more "looped" sound.

There is no official release date set. As you are probably aware,
there's a
great deal of production work necessary to bring a product like this
to
market. Chuck and I are both up to our necks in projects at present,
and we
are hoping to firm up a release date for this project very soon.
Sonic
Foundry has its own production tasks to accomplish when we have
finished our
part of the work, so any official release date of the Sonic Foundry
product
will be determined by their staff.

Note that I do not represent Sonic Foundry in any way...I am only
speaking
as producer of the project. Any official news on their version of The
Chuck
Rainey Collection will come directly from them. I offer this
information
just to let you know that you won't be finding this product at Guitar
Center
next week...but hopefully very soon.
