Subject:Using Generator as a Plug-in.

I've been using Native Instrument's Generator "soft" synth for a few months. I have since moved over to using another "soft" synth called VAZ Modular which is a lot less complicated to use but seems equally as powerfull. However I have found a new use for Generator as an FX Plug-in to Acid. It is quite modular and configurable not only as a synth but also as an FX unit, ie delay, phaser, reverb etc. One of my favorite uses is to proccess an Acid track with an LFO modulated low-pass filter. I am curious as to whether anyone else has had any experience with this combination of tools (or other similar ones) and if perhaps we could start exchanging ideas and tips on this forum? |

a great idea but I can't get it to work. I mean, I can pick Generator as a plugin, the program starts, everything looks fine, but no effects do I hear. Yes I have the FX send up so it aint' that...any ideas? and if you have cooked up anything in Generator that would work as a plug in could you forward it to me - like off the list, ya know? I primarily use Generator in ACID not Sound Forge and I don't remember ever checking the proccessor usage. From what I recall, the proccessor load seemed comparable to other effects plug-ins. My basement studio is being remodeled now so I haven't been able to work on any music for the last couple of weeks. When I get everything set up again I'll check out a few Generator plug-ins in Sound Forge and give you the stats. They have a downloadable demo of Generator at the Native Instruments site but I believe that the DirectX functionality has been disabled in the demo version. JV |
