I have just gotten BFD, and I have a bunch of questions! Do any of you have it? If so, how does it work in Acid Pro 6? Have you had any issues with it? Do you use BFD's groove player, or do you program MIDI in a track? I'm just looking for some advice from acid users. |

Hi , i usually grab the midi files from bfd and put 'em in a midi track in acid ,then edit these .I like to put midis from collections to it as well and continue edit from there. Of course i also do midi programming from scratch when its needed :-) For real tho, anyway u work with it ,once u get to grips with it, u 'll wanna grab some of the expansion packs as they expand the sound palette extensively.Percussion adds what it says and 8bit kit adds some nice vintage electronic kits to it .Many other expansions like funk jazz kits ,andy john's kits etc avail as well. As for the groove player i found it to be glitchy behaving within Acid but still it works . I really dont think though u gonna be using this a lot once u know the grooves and sounds by heart. Hope this was helpful m8 - cheers :-) Message last edited on9/13/2007 7:29:32 PM bytascolas. |

You said, "i usually grab the midi files from bfd and put 'em in a midi track in acid ,then edit these." Acording to the BDF manual I can drag and drop midi files into an Acid MIDI track. I can't seem to do that. Can you tell me how? Or do you do it another way? |

I thought I'd try bumping this one time. I'm just curious how BFD is working in Acid. Any tricks? Any issues? |

Sorry for the l8 reply m8. Well ... u drag and drop midifiles from within the bfd interface as mentioned in the manual. If for some reason acid doesnt respond to this ( acid used to do this to me with Stylus vsti ),the easiest way is to browse to the bfd folder and open the midi files from there. They are plain midi files -nothing peculiar about them. hope this helps man. In general i'd say that acid has the most issues when it has to deal with timebased plugs as the acid engine is timebased as well,so bfd is not an exception .As i ve seen in at least another 3 different comps ppl are having trouble with Drumkit From Hell as well ,Stylus RMX (works gr8 in my setup though) ,Bfd as u mention it ,with Melodyne vst being the worse of all from a cpu hog to completely crashing or hanging the system. I can still live with the multitrack rewire version anyway which i 'm also accustomed to ...U can try the bfd updates if u still can't drag&drop the files in a midi track within acid,if i remember correctly the latest versions have improved stability/functionality.Cheers:) Message last edited on10/1/2007 9:35:59 PM bytascolas. |

THanks. I've been openinf the folder and getting the MIDI files that way. If it worked for you, I sould be able to get it to work for me. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. As far as BFD working in Acid Pro, I've had no issues. |
