I'm confused. I see the Sonic Foundry blurbs advertizing the sound
loops for Acid as "royalty-free" but the
license for Acid (Rock, at least) has some very elaborate language
prohibiting, if I recall correctly, any
reproduction and/or distribution of the loops, anything produced,
derived, reverse engineered or modified
from the loops.

If one can't USE the music produced employing the software, what's
the point of owning it?

Here's what the User Agreement says:
"You are free to use these loops in your own original
compositions without restriction. These loops may not be
resold or redistributed in any other form." (emphasis
mine)

OK, what this means is this:
You can create compositions with these loops. However, trade
them with your pals or resell them and you are dead meat.

Hope this helps:

Here now, oh original poster, you're not the tv actor Robert Beltran?
If so, cool, dude! If not, that's cool too. :-)

My understanding is I can record and sell my songs that I created,
royalty free, with ACID and the loops. I cannot resell the LOOPS.

See the difference?

If not, Mr. Beltran is correct and there is no point in owning SF's
Acid loops.

Thanx!
