I have recently downloaded the ACID demo and tried to start learning how everything works. But I just can't seem to find any loops that are playable. I tried looking in the quick start menu under Finding Loops in the Media Explorer but all that comes out of a file entitled Record Take 1.wav is static. I really want to get started with this program so I hope someone can offer me an answer. Thx Devin |

Dude, you are far off base. ACID's loops are great material. Those loops that come bundled with the product are better than many collections that cost $$$. It's your studio technique that's suffering. No software product is a magic wand. You need technique, taste, and good ears to manipulate raw material into great sounding work. You have to learn to use effects, editors, and mixing tools. None of this comes easy. Making your own loops is also very important to getting a good sound, but that's beside the point. I guarantee you I can take a bunch of loops from that ACID disc, and blow your mind with them...and you'd never be able to recognize them in the tune, even if you A/B'd the loops and the tune. I'm not trying to rag you, I'm just suggesting that you might dig a little deeper into the technical aspect of music production. You won't be capable of producing anything beyond simple remixes, otherwise, and ACID can do much more than that. -- Bruce A. Richardson Purple Iguana Productions bandmaster@sprynet.com |

Loops come bundled with the various ACID product discs, and also are available from Sonic Foundry and other third-party developers. I think there are some DEMO tunes on the website that might put a few loops on your machine. Any wave file can be cut into a loop. ACID is the most powerful loop composing tool there is. Don't even think twice about buying it. It has paid for itself one hundred times since I started using it. -- Bruce A. Bruce: You stole my thunder but you put it quite nicely! ACID's loops are GREAT material to work with. It is an art to properly compose a song. You don't just turn on your computer and throw in some loops and "viola" a masterpeice. If it was that easy I would want nothing to do with it. Rob Bruce A.
