Hey!! I was wondering if I use ACID on my computer and loop together a number of beats..Can I copy those on a disk and go to a studio and add some vocals for a professional recording or is that not possible to do? |

Plenty of studios are outfitted for this. Why don't you try it yourself right in ACID? With the right DirectX FX, and a decent mic, you're home free. Vocals are a real kick in ACID, and one of the most fun things to manipulate. Even if your soundcard is marginal, you can still do some really cool low-fi vocal stuff in ACID. -- Bruce A. You can record vocals right into Acid and do what you like, I do this all the time. In fact I make my own loop with my keyboard and SoundFonts. I then mix everything in Acid save to a .wav file and burn a CD, the sound quality is excellent. Layzie Hayes wrote: >>Hey!! Hey thanks for answering my question..Do you know where I can find some of those things you mentioned, because the built in mic on my computer is very weak?? Bruce A. If you're looking for DirectX Effects, give our sales line a call at 1-800 SONIC, and they can refer you to a Sonic Foundry Dealer in your area. If you're looking for a microphone, there's plenty of good resources on the net, including www.harmony-central.com, where you can find vendors and microphone comparisons. Also, you could try typing in 'professional audio reseller' or the like into altavista.com. You might want to check out sound cards too, in which case, there are a myriad to choose from, depending on your interests and budget. Could you explain DirectX FX? Is it software or hardware? Is it just something to manipulate the sound with, or something needed to record with a mike into ACID? Bruce A.
